Monicaalessandra "Monica" Bonfanti

Is an international environmental expert and a fully qualified lawyer with more than 23 years of relevant international working experience gained working abroad (Balkan areas -Montenegro, Albania, Serbia, Croatia, Macedonia- SEE, CEE, India, Nepal, Africa, Caribbean, Middle East, ASEAN Region, Pacific Islands).

She has proven knowledge of the international framework for civil aviation safety regulation and rules, which has matured in different regions (i.e. Europe, Balkans, Africa, the Caribbean, the Middle East, the ASEAN region, and the Pacific Islands).

Under different EU-funded projects implemented by EASA, she has trained and assisted States in implementing ICAO SARPs Annex 16 Volume IV on CORSIA, familiarizing them with Sustainable Aviation Fuel and exploring potential policies to support the long-term economic operation of SAF within the specific state decarbonisation roadmap. 
She was involved in the legislative, economic and fiscal reforms linked to new environmental and climate change mechanisms- carbon market included- and the harmonization of the EU acquis on energy (i.e. renewable energy and energy efficiency directives).
